For my Minor I worked on a Point and Click Adventure about Asperger-Syndrom in Girls. What started as a journey to learn object oriented programming ended up to be a whole game with story, lots of characters and plenty of scenes

When I was 18 years old, I got diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, better known as Asperger Syndrome.

Since childhood I knew that I was different, and I always thought that everyone had the same struggles as I did. But when I got older, I started to notice the difference between me and others. I got picked on and bullied and I never knew why, I just knew I was different.

From that experience I felt the urge to show people how different I see the world and when I was fourteen, I developed a small game with RPG Maker VX about my differences. Without knowing my diagnosis, I crafted a small adventure game.

Years later, during the third year of my study, I wanted to learn how to do proper object-oriented programming. Even though I started my study as an Artist, I quickly developed a passion for programming and got behind the logic of code with an ease by teaching myself. In order to get on a more professional and effective level, I decided to dedicate my minor to the improvement of my coding style.
The plan was to work the first three month of the semester on a dynamic Point and Click Adventure System in Unity, and the last three month on a demo version of a game to proof that my system works.
But I was so motivated and dedicated that programming consumed less days then estimated. Instead of finishing the system in three months, I was finished with the base in less then two weeks. My Quality Assurance and teachers were amazed by the progress, and we decided to make the project a bit bigger the originally planned!

I took the chance and decided on an actual storyline, characters and scenes and attempted to redo the game that I created when I was fourteen with all my knowledge I had about myself as well as the knowledge I acquired about making games!

All models, Scenes, Code, the majority of Sound and Music, as well as UI and Game Design were done by me in half a Year. The game takes roughly one to two hours to finish.
